Boscastle

The small village is extremely picturesque with a spectacular harbour, incredible views from either side of the harbour with walks to Tintagel to the south and Beeny Cliff to the North and Crackington Haven beyond. Every stage of the walk can only be described as spectacular and extensive.

Beeny Cliff to the north of the harbour made famous by Thomas Hardy with his poem of the same name. But the harbour is also infamous for its spectacular flash flood in 2004.

The geology is of great interest to Geologist because the rocks have undergone such incredible contortions and folding. The walk to Tintagel passes through the Rocky Valley and the path has exposures of volcanic ash and the walk concludes with a special view of Tintagel Castle.
